Valley View Equestrian Centre is back taking enquiries

- Proprietor Janet Burke.

AS we gradually ease Covid-19 restrictions it’s nearly time to get back in the saddle and at Valley View Equestrian Centre in Meelin, Newmarket all is in readiness to welcome riders back.

They are already fielding enquiries and will be proceeding strictly in line with government guidelines.

Back, too, will be the wealth of experience of owner Janet Burke, who founded Valley View Equestrian Centre 25 years ago in May 1995. With miles of hacking and trekking along country lanes and roads it is perfect for young riders.

Janet has coaching and teaching qualifications from both Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) and British Horse Society (BHS).

Janet also attends several training and CPD days each year to continuously upskill.

Valley View Equestrian Centre is approved by the Association of Irish Riding Establishments (AIRE) and coaches riders from beginnner right up to competition level.

Based on a farm at Goosberry Hill, this is a small friendly, family run equestrian centre, sited in the heart of Duhallow hunting country.

Throughout the years Janet has had many pupils attend hunts, charity rides, hunter trials, shows and show jumping, and she is very much looking forward to welcoming riders back to Valley View Equestrian Centre.

“Covid-19 has changed life for us all but the time away from all the regular routine was welcome, as everywhere has been washed, tidied and painted,” says Janet.

“It has also given me time to step back and look at where I am now going with the business. Things will need to change going forward to adhere to the protocols/ restrictions and allow for social distancing, and travel restrictions.”

Janet says the number of students in a lesson will be in accordance with government advice. “Private and semi-private lessons, and small groups will become the norm,” she says.

Opening on a gradual basis during stage 2/3, with detail being announced this week by the government, enquiries are now being taken at Valley View Equestrian Centre.

Janet says those with their own pony/horse will be first back.

Private lessons for competition riders will also be available.

Then those who can ride and adjust equipment unaided, with camps and beginner lessons at a later stage.

“We also offer schooling of horses and ponies,” says Janet.

Janet also breeds and produces some of her own horses, and handles the sale of horses, ponies and cobs.

For those who love horses and riding it’s going to be a renewed lease of life to get back in the saddle again after the pandemic lockdown

“Apart from the physical benefits of horse riding, it’s great for your mental health,” says Janet. “When the pupil is here they can forget any other troubles and enjoy the job in hand. They will need to put the focus on the activity and the pony.”

It’s time to make that call to Valley View Equestrian Centre – 087 9883167.
