Huge boost upon return of Masses

-

BASED on Government and Public Health advice, public mass in St Mary’s church, Newmarket is proposed to return on Saturday, July 4, at 7:30pm.

Numbers will be limited to 50 individuals in the main body of the church, and spaces must be booked in advance with the parish office by phone.

With these limited numbers now in place, it may not be possible to attend Mass weekly.

There has been a big uptake of these seats to date, although there are still places available for families in the galleries.

If you have missed out on a seat, you can still tune into

Mass on Facebook and the parish radio.

Mass intentions already booked will have two places allocated to the family.

Mass will start at 7,.30pm, so people are advised to come to church early and to co-operate with the stewards when being seated.

At the end of Mass, stewards will guide people safely from the church while maintaining social distancing.

People are asked to sanitise their hands when entering and leaving the church.

Shrines will not be in use at Mass time, and toilets will remain closed.

Daily Mass will continue to be celebrated by Father Francis behind closed doors at 10am and can be viewed online on Facebook or listened to on the parish radio.

Both churches will continue to be open daily from 11am to 6pm for private visits and personal prayer.

Confessions will resume at the top of the church after 10am Mass every Friday, commencing on June 26.

From July 4, Newmarket Church will be closed on Saturdays in order to allow sanitising to take place before Mass.
