Credit Union survey highlights the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on health and finances
THE results of a survey undertaken by the North Cork-based Synergy Credit Union have offered a fascinating insight into the impact of Covid-19 on Irish society and their experiences with the credit union during the pandemic.
More than 760 members of the branch, which has a large catchment area covering the Fermoy, Watergrasshill, Kildorrery and Leamlara circle, responded to the survey, which addressed topics including the effectiveness public health measures during the pandemic, its affect on their personal finances and the future of the Irish economy.
Among its key findings were that more than three-quarters of those surveyed were concerned about their health and that of their families, many said that they have, or will, be financially impacted by the crisis with 29% saying their salaries either have been or will be reduced and 80% of those surveyed believed the Irish economy will be in a worse position in 2021.
Overall, the respondents expressed satisfaction with the way Synergy had performed during the pandemic, with more than 90%
