Firefighters get up on their bikes for Air Ambulance

-

A GROUP of volunteer fire fighters based in Rathcoole are laying down a challenge that for every euro generated in a fundraiser, they will remain on a bike in their NeverEndingCycle.

The event supports the Irish Community Rapid Response Air Ambulance and their aeromedical service based at Rathcoole. Since its launch, the AW109 Air Ambulance helicopter has been oin consistent demand, within 40 minutes flying distance of a large swathe of the south of the country.

A few weeks in lockdown have taken its toll so in order to counter the effects of the lockdown and get some badly needed exercise we’ve decided to take to the roads and the physical challenge of cycling 5km loops around ICRR HQ at Rathcoole.

The organisers express thanks to clubs, groups and the public on supporting the Air Ambulance all over the country. From the latest venture, every €1 donated will keep the cyclists in the saddle for one minute, €60 will equate to 1hr and €600 matches up to 10hrs.

Patrons can donate to the fundraiser at www.idonate.ie/NeverEndingCycle.
