GAA CLUB NEWS
Like all other clubs, Kilbrin players and mentors are delighted to be back training after the lengthy suspension due to Covid 19. Adult training has resumed since Wednesday and juvenile training will resume on Monday 29th June. While this is most welcome participants and patrons are reminded that strict procedures are in place and guidelines need to be adhered to.
All players, management and officers must complete the e-learning Covid Education Module and Health Questionnaire before being allowed onto the field for playing/training. Due to the severity of the pandemic there will be no exception to this rule. Each person participating in Gaelic Games must complete a Health Questionnaire, answering some basic health related questions, prior to the first occasion that they return to their club. They must also re-confirm that their Health Status hasn’t changed on each subsequent occasion that they participate.
Parents / Guardians can submit forms on behalf of their dependents and forms can also be submitted on behalf of person’s who may struggle with completing the electronic form themselves.
Covid Supervisors in clubs can verify that individual members of their teams / panels have submitted forms and are permitted to participate. They do not have access to view the specific information provided via the Health Questionnaire, they will simply be able to see that the questionnaire has been submitted. Personal Information contained on the Health Questionnaires is stored for a maximum period of three weeks.Forms can be accessed by visiting the URL https://returntoplay.gaa.ie

COMMUNITY CENTRE WORKS
This week we were delighted to get the go ahead to start work on the Community Centre. This work will include upgrade of meeting rooms and kitchen area’s and much needed upgrade of all of the lighting in the centre. This will add greater efficiency to the running of the centre, reducing costs for us and doing our bit to reduce the environmental impact.
MASS RETURNS
Masses will resume on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9.30am and on Sundays at 10am in St John the Baptist Church Kilbrin, commencing on Tuesday June 30th. For the duration of the Covid 19 pandemic attendance at mass on days other than Sunday will be seen as fulfilment of the obligation to attend mass on Sunday. We would ask that people adhere to the measures put in place for their safety. We would also like to thank the people involved in preparing the church for the return of parishioners.
GAA TRAINING
Kids GAA training has resumed this week. It is great to see the effort made by the club to ensure everyone’s safety at the GAA grounds with hand sanitisers and other measures in full operation. Well done to all and the kids are delighted to be back.
VILLAGE RENEWAL
Huge thanks to the village renewal committee on their recent work throughout the village. Flowerbeds and hanging baskets everywhere you look. There has also been much painting completed in the last few weeks. It is absolutely great to see the village looking so well.
THANKS
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the healthcare workers in our community who continue to put themselves on the frontline in an effort to keep the rest of us safe. There are many from our community making the journey to Mallow Hospital and other centres, putting in extraordinary hours. These are very trying times for them and their families and we wish them safe passage through it. Their efforts are not going unnoticed and I believe I am speaking for everyone in the community in thanking them most sincerely. There are of course other frontline workers who are manning shops, chemists, producing food and medicine and all other necessary functions. Our thanks also goes to you. As more places of business reopen we would ask that everyone take care of themselves while returning to work.
SUPPORT LOCAL
As the country has moved to the next phase of reopening we would ask everyone to remember to support local business. Remember that many small companies have had to close for three months and most of these employ local people. Now that they are reopening we should all support them as they are essential to rural life.
