MASS TO RESUME

The public celebration of mass will resume in St Mary’s Church Castlemagner on this Saturday night, July 4th at 7 30pm. In accordance with H S E guidelines and for the safety of all concerned, the following guidelines will be necessary and are recommended by the Catholic Diocese.

Sanitising and social distancing measures are being put in place and there will be one way traffic system in and out of the church.

Priests and ministers of the Eucharist have been asked to wear a face-covering while distributing Holy Communion and are being advised to sanitise their hands both before and after the distribution of communion. It is also recommended that communion be received in the hand.

Ushers will be available to help out in allaying fears anyone coming to Mass may have.

It is recommended that people who are vulnerable or unwell, and especially those with any symptoms that might suggest Covid-19 infection, should stay at home and if possible, participate, as of now, via webcam, social media, television, or radio.

Usual weekly door collection will be in place and this support will be greatly appreciated after weeks of lost revenue, other collections that take place from time to time will also be appreciated and will be taken up on the way out.

St Mary’s Church will be open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10am until 12 noon for personal prayer only and notices will be in place on these days as movement will be restricted to the Edel Quinn Shrine area of the Church.

A MESSAGE FOR OUR SENIOR CITIZENS

Castlemagner Community Development Association would like to remind the elderly members of our community to keep sending us your memories of days gone by, whether these be stories, poems or prayers, we would love to hear them.

Many of you will have received a stamped addressed envelope by now so please put your thoughts on paper and return them to Mary O Sullivan (0860717761) by July 10th.

Also, do not hesitate to contact us if you know someone who would like to be part of this or if you would like further details. We are delighted with the response so far and would like to thank those of you who have already contributed. We hope to publish these memories in a book later in the year.
