HOT on the heels of news on progress on a new national school and relief road for Kanturk comes news of another new housing development.

Banteer-based Murphy New Homes has announced details of a new development beginning shortly in the area.

Curragh Árd will be the third estate constructed in the exclusive Curragh area by Murphy New Homes. The 25 houses on offer are a fresh, modern take on classical designs accentuated with stonework features and modern metal facades, Murphy New Homes said, adding that it aims to deliver homes that are pleasing to the eye and practical to live in.

All designs will be A-Rated fully detached houses within walking distance to a wide variety of schools, shops, restaurants and other recreational amenities.

“Each house will be equipped with environmentally friendly air to water heating systems complete with under-floor heating on both ground- and first-floor levels, high-spec future-proof windows and concrete slabs across all first floors, giving very high performance when it comes to energy efficiency, as well as having the added benefit of increased sound insulation, perfect for busy families,” said Aisling Murphy of Murphy New Homes.

Each unit will have its own entrance, with parking for multiple vehicles, as well as access to a large shared green area.

There is a variety of both three-bedroom and four-bedroom designs to choose from, and all will include en-suite bathrooms to the master bedrooms; as well as spacious kitchen and living areas illuminated by natural light from the large glazing areas, the Banteer-based company added.

Phase one of the development is scheduled to commence next month, with significant interest already being reported from a wide spectrum of potential buyers.
