Busy schedules ahead for GAA teams - when fixtures are finalised

WHILE Kanturk GAA have a broad outline of the weekends that games will resume in the various championsh­ips, the full list of venues, dates and times must be finalised.

It will see a busy time for the club at Senior and Junior Hurling, Premier Intermedia­te and Junior football along with minor in both codes.

In Senior hurling Kanturk face Cloyne, Killeagh and Newcestown while on the same weekends as those games the Junior hurlers face championsh­ip tests against Banteer, Kilbrin and Castlemagn­er.

In Premier Intermedia­te football, Kanturk face Macroom, Nemo Rangers and Gabriel Rangers on the same weekend as our Junior side play Kiskeam, Boherbue and Lyre.

At Minor level, Kanturk will contest Premier 2 section against Na Piarsaigh, Valley Rovers and Newcestown in Hurling while in football, Kanturk face St Finbarrs, St Michaels and Carrigalin­e.

All in all it will be a busy number of weeks from 22nd July to the first weekend of September before it is known which of our teams will progress in the various championsh­ips.

Kanturk GAA lotto tickets, which are €2 each or 3 for €5 are on sale locally but also each Saturday outside Twohig’s Super Valu, Kanturk along with O’Riordan’s Day Break at Banteer Road.
