Cervical screening has resumed at Dr Leader’s surgery in Boherbue since Monday last with the most urgent cases getting first preference.

Eye retina screening for diabetics will commence on July 20.

Breast check will commence in September/October -- more details on exact dates etc later.

Please note that the Hospital Breast Clinic in Cork has continued to function throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anyone with a breast problem should visit their family doctor who can if needed refer them to the Breast Clinic.

Bowel cancer screening will also resume during September/ October.

However, all these plans could change should the Covid-19 pandemic become more active.

COLLECTION

The Boherbue Parish Hall clothes collection fundraiser continues on this Saturday, July 11 and Saturday, July 18 from 11am to 1pm each day.

Bags of clothes can be dropped off into the main hall. No duvets, pillows or electrical items.

A hand sanitising station will be available at the entrance and you are requested to adhere to all HSE and social distancing guidelines.

SPICE SHOP

The first ever Indian Spice Shop to open in County Cork was officially opened in Boherbue on Thursday last at the Indian Yoga Centre.

The opening hours will be from Monday to Saturday 11am to 5pm and 11.45pm to 4pm on Sundays. Available will be both whole and ground spices, a wide variety of curry powders, ready to eat Indian snacks plus fresh Indian fruit and vegetables.

Cookery lessons are also availalbe if required.

YOGA

The open air traditiona­l Indian yoga classes continue each evening at the Comprehens­ive School field from Monday to Friday 7-8pm.

The Yoga Centre is again open for the early morning 6-7am and the regular morning class 9.30am to 10.30am.
