TOY SOLDIER FACTORY OPEN AGAIN

Cill na Martra’a Toy Soldier Factory is open once again and the staff are waiting for lots of visitors to their shop and workshops. All government guidelines are observed in the shop and especially during the workshops. The most popular figurines this year are football players complete with facemasks. Children then paint them in their club colours. In former years, the factory welcomed many international tourists and school tours, but this year they hope local visitors will make up the shortfall. Ring 026-40342 to book a WE MAKE IT AND YOU PAINT IT workshop.

SYMPATHY

The death took place recently of Teddy Hallissey, Barretts Place, Macroom and formerly of Ráth Laoich. Although he was a Macroom parishioner, the late Teddy and his family attended Mass in Cill na Martra and joined in the chat later in Brown’s shop in olden times. The late Teddy is survived by his sisters, Cáit and Joan and by his brothers, Brother Donal, Steven and Neil, sisters in law, Mary and Marie, brother in law, Tony, nieces and nephews to whom sympathy is extended. I bhFlaitheas Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

MACROOM LIBRARY

Readers are delighted that Macroom Library is back in business from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5:30pm but please note that it closes from 1pm to 2pm for cleaning. As numbers in the Library are limited, you may have to queue. There are bins at the door for returning books and you are allowed 20 minutes to choose new books. Please sanitise hands and observe social distance at all times. At present there are no newspapers or magazines and no seating. Despite the constraints, it is good to see the Library doors open.
