CHURCHES OPENING UP:

Great news this week that masses have resumed in our churches, unfortunately at the moment the numbers will be limited but at least, its great to see people dropping in to churches to say a prayer or light a candle. Hopefully more and more church events will be in place before long.

Mass on Saturday night will be at 6pm in Carriganima and in Clondrohid at 7.30pm. Sunday Mass will be in Clondrohid at 9.30am (please take note of new time going forward ). The following Sunday Mass will be in Carriganima at 9.30am.and back in Clondrohid again the following Sunday..

Weekday Masses will be in Clondrohid at 9.30 every morning except Thursday when it will be in Carriganima at 9.30am. There will be no Saturday morning Mass. In Clondrohid on weekdays, there will be prayers at 9.15 before Mass at 9.30 and rosary will be recited after Mass.

Rosary and Benediction continues in Clondrohid church at 7.30pm on Sunday evenings. You are asked to sanitize on entering the church and to follow the new layout in the church. There will be no Holy Water fonts in porch as before, but there will be bottles of Holy Water available at the top of church, which you take and use and bring back for a refill when needed. Masks can be worn, and Fr. Joe will sanitize his hands before and after distributing communion, he will also wear a mask during distribution. There will be no Eucharistic Ministers for the moment. It is planned to have loud speakers outside the church shortly.

Clondrohid are looking for a representative from each town land to come on a rota to help with the upkeep of the church..

GIRLS TO THE RESCUE:

Congrats to local girls Muireann, Sinead and Denise Kelleher, daughters of Con and Catherine Kelleher, who rescued a toddler from a pond in Cork recently.

They were out for a walk down by the Atlantic Pond near Pairc Ui Caoimh, when a toddler running around in front of them, went too far from his mothers reach, who was holding a baby, and fell into pond.. The sisters quickly took over, one jumped in, one took care of the baby as the mother tried to rescue her son . It ended happily for all, and the mother contacted Neil Prendeville the next day to thank the girls. Well done.

CLONDROHID COMMUNITY HALL:

Clondrohid Community Hall has been dependant on those that use it, those that support it and those that fund it .In recent months it seemed strange to hear no sound, see no light, no car or bus parked by, no laughter or talk as patrons arrived or were leaving. Strange times. For the committee it is also difficult, no income, plans in place ready to go, like, new windows and doors, grant aided by IRD & Cork County Council €10,000.00 but total cost is €16,300.00. Expenditure like insurance etc still had to be paid, over €2,000.00. Certification of safety and fire equipment also had to be paid for. Strange times but we are still better off and can’t complain, those sick or worse from this pandemic puts everything else into perspective. However if there is anyone who would like to give support financially or otherwise, then its always greatly appreciated. Clondrohid Community Hall belongs to the community, sometimes this gets forgotten, please support those that run activities or begin your own.
