SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

The best way to receive Christ is in Holy Communion at Mass. Yet for those times when you cannot attend Holy Mass, or cannot receive Holy Communion for various reasons, you can still reach out to Him by making a Spiritual Communion in prayer!

Spiritual Communion is “an ardent desire to receive Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar [in Communion at Mass] and in lovingly embracing Him as if we had actually received Him.”

This is the act of spiritual communion of St. Alphonsus Liguori which can be said by all those who desire to make a spiritual communion or participate in the Holy Mass as streamed over the internet everyday:

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen. Collectors for Month of March 7.30pm (Vigil) Helen O’Doherty,
