Under-age GAA activities get back underway

- Laochra Óg Notes

The under-12 boys got their season back on track at the weekend with a game versus Cloughduv, which was played at a very fast pace, with both teams showing great determination to get back hurling .

They fought back in the second half against the very skilful Cloughduv team.

It was great to see 30-plus under-12 hurlers back out on the pitch.

Thanks to Cloughduv for the game and to parents for travelling: it’s the start of, hopefully, a condensed but enjoyable season.

Team sponsors are Mid Cork Pallets and Packaging, as always, and thanks to them and all the community-based club sponsors.

One Sunday, July 12, the under-12 camogie girls took to the field for their much-anticipated first match of the season in Coláiste Ghobnatan in Baile Mhúirne against a very sporting Bandon team.

It was a fast-paced game, with Bandon on flying form from the throw in. The girls showed great determination and never gave up and battled until the final whistle.

Thanks to referee Rachael; to Coláiste Ghobnatan for use of the pitch; and team sponsors Macroom Tidy Towns. Girls and trainers were delighted to be back on the pitch with great support on the sideline.

Thanks to Bandon Camogie Club for travelling on an early Sunday morning.
