Mass finally returns to the locality

-

LAST weekend Newmarket and Taur Parish celebrated the first public Mass since lock-down.

Father Francis was grateful for all the support and help received to make the event so successful.

“I would like to thank everyone for your co-operation and the courtesy shown to the ushers”, he said. “My sincere thanks to all volunteers for giving up their time” he added.

Reservations for Saturday night Mass at 7.30pm in Newmarket and Sunday in Taur at 10am will continue to be taken by contacting the parish office on (029) 22679.

Public Mass in Newmarket resumed this week on Mondays and Wednesdays only, and Liturgy of the Word will be public on Thursday.

There will be no need to reserve a place for these. This will be reviewed daily.

All Masses will continue to be transmitted on Facebpok and the Parish Radio. Father Francis will continue to celebrate Mass at 10am on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday behind closed doors. Please note Newmarket Church is closed on Saturdays to allow for cleaning before Mass.

If you are attending public Mass, please enter by the main door, where you will be shown to a seat by an usher. The church will be filled from the top down.

Families are asked to enter by the side door to their designated gallery. At the end of Mass, ushers will guide people safely from the Church through all doors while maintaining social distancing. Holy Communion will be given in the hand in your seat by a Priest/Eucharistic Minister, who will be wearing a face mask.

The wearing of face-masks is recommended but not mandatory. Sanitizing stations are available at all doors. Shrines will not be in use at Mass time. A box for your weekly envelopes will be in the Church porch for your convenience.
