Four star Boherbue celebrate
BOHERBUE FOOTBALLERS MAINTAIN IRON GRIP ON DUHALLOW SILVERWARE
IT was another day for Boherbue to cherish after they maintained their dominance of the Duhallow Junior A Football Championship title by overcoming Cullen at Rathcoole last weekend. At the end of the hour, victory in the decider was most convincing – no surprise therefore that Boherbue were completing a four in a row of divisional titles.
Those lucky enough from Boherbue to be present greeted another successful chapter in the club’s history as Boherbue team captain Kevin Murphy, in the presence of loyal supporters, lifted the silverware in glorious sunshine.
A limited number of tickets were distributed to each participating club, demand exceeding availability, and local pride in abundance as the flags and bunting of both communities encouraged both the Boherbue and Cullen tea ms.
“Its was a big occasion, everybody looked forward to the big game, disappointing, though, that more were not allowed to attend. However, the outcome was terrific, all involved with Boherbue were thrilled to be crowned Duhallow champions again and a chance to progress to a county championship in the next few weeks,” said Boherbue Chairperson Eileen Casey.
Much the same can be expected this Saturday when Dromtariffe and Kilbrin meet in the E Tarrant & Sons Skoda Dealer Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship Final at Kanturk.
Again, restrictions are in place,
Duhallow Board Secretary Tony McAulliffe confirmed a limited number of tickets will be distributed to each participating club with both finalists expected to stream the clash for stay-at-home supporters.
