AGHABULLOG­UE made light work of a disappoint­ing Millstreet to earn a 2-17 to 0-9 victory in the Co. Intermedia­te A Football Championsh­ip quarter final at Ballyvourn­ey.

Operating a brand of open and attacking football , there could be disputing the merits of Aghabullog­ue’s triumph. Millstreet availed of the welcome water break, points from Darragh Cashman, James Linehan and Shane Hickey narrowed the arrears 1-10 to 0-7 at the short whistle.

Still, Aghabullog­ue held the initiative and finished in style to rubberstam­p a semi final date with Mitchelsto­wn.

Meanwhile Millstreet players enjoyed a better return with Duhallow in their Co. Senior Football Championsh­ip quarter final assignment against Valley Rovers at Pairc Uí Rinn. Contributi­ng to the narrow win were Shane Hickey, Mark Ellis and Darragh Cashman with William O’Leary part of the management team.
