The Corkman

THE GAME IN 60 SECONDS

-

MAIN MAN

Having missed the previous game owing to a hand injury, Kevin Cremin worked the middle third with massive industry, a general understanding evident too of what it takes to lock out the opposing attack on drifting back to gobble up ball and set up a succession of movements that yielded telling Boherbue scores.

KEY MOMENT

A mixture of excellent Boherbue play and sloppy Cullen resistance swung the balance in favour of the reigning champions. Cullen had battled bravely early on but from the 20th min, they faced an uphill task, Andrew O’Connor prised open the Cullen defence from far out and with no hand put on the number 10, O’Connor clinically despatched to net.

TALKING POINT

Apart from a competitive opening, four in a row winning Boherbue had no intention of falling from their throne, far more assured and fluent in possession as opposed to a general lethargic amongst the Cullen ranks without a title since 2008 with many of their players facing into a first time decider.

NEXT UP

No doubting Boherbue’s superiority within Duhallow yet in three previous attempts in the county championship, they failed to come near their true potential. With just divisional winners involved in 2020, Boherbue wait on the actual pairings for a quarter final draw to test their wares that’s sure to feature some big guns.
