WALSH’S PHARMACY JBFC(1) FINAL

Abbey Rovers v Shanballymore

Saturday September 26 Ballyhooly 4pm

THIS weekend the Walsh’s Pharmacy JBFC(1) final is listed for Ballyhooly on Saturday between Abbey Rovers and Shanballymore. This should be a very closely contested final between neighbours and great rivals. Shanballymore had a win over Araglin by 3-11 to 0-6 in their semi-final.

Doneraile had a close win over

Deel Rovers in the quarter final by 1-12 to 2-8. The semi-final saw Abbey Rovers overcome Doneraile in another ‘local derby’ by 3-14 to 4-10 after extra time. Abbey Rovers scorers in the semi final were Dylan O’Connor 1-8 (0-3f), John Browne 1-1, Mark O’Callaghan 0-3, Shay Mullane 1-0, Adrian O’Donovan 0-1, Aidan O’Leary 0-1.

Shanballymore were well on top against Araglin in their game in Ballygiblin. Their scorers were Alan Sheedy 2-2, Jake Buckley 0-6 (3f), Miceal Burke 1-0, Darragh Palmer 0-2, Eoin McHugh 0-1. Kilworth and Killeagh meet in the Senior A HC relegation final in Ballynoe on Sunday. This is another hard game to call with Kilworth likely to maintain the senior status for 2021.

There is a big game in Glanworth on Sunday when Fermoy and Mallow clash in the County SAFC semi final. Mallow with a very well balanced side must be fancied to advance.

Also on Sunday Kildorrery hurlers face a tough test when they meet Aghabullogue in the County IHC A semi-final in Glantane.

Kildorrery have come very close to winning this County title in recent years. They have a very gbood chance of reaching the County final against either Kilbrittain or Eire Og.

The remaining game is the meeting of Charleville and Kanturk in the Senior A HC semi-final at Mallow. This is very much a 50/50 call.
