INCREASED CHARGES

Everyone is reminded that charges at the Amenity Sites are going up next month. If the garage is due a cleanout, there is just two weeks to avail of the present lower charges.

The first charge to go up is the entry fee at the gate. This goes from €3 to €4 per vehicle. Sadly, bags of domestic waste will cost more to dispose of, going from €4 to €5.

But, the biggest increases will be for trailers of waste timber. Small trailers will cost twice as much, from €20 to €40. Big trailers will also double, from €40 to €80. It will also cost double to dispose of old carpet.

Food waste bins will also cost more. Recycling however is still free. The increased charges were necessary as sites were operating at a loss.

TRÓCAIRE BOXES

An tAthair Joe reminds all parishioners that Trócaire boxes are available in both churches for collection at present.

REBEL’S BOUNTY DRAW

Rebel’s Bounty Draw is a brand new raffle replacing the GAA County Board Draw. There is a huge increase in prizemoney,

€500,000 in all. There are 30 cash prizes each month. Some months will have a top prize of €20,000 or €25,000 but the December draw has a tempting €100,000.

The first draw is planned for March 25 covering the three months of January, February and March. An annual ticket costs €100, same as before and this cost can be made in 10 instalments.

Local clubs can retain the money from sales for club activities once their quota is sold. Further details and tickets can be had from members of Cumann Peile Chill na Martra.

SYMPATHY

Cathair Daithi lost one of its older residents and a great neighbour when Mary O’Riordan died recently.

Born there almost 90 years ago, the late Mary was a meticulous, hard working lady, who always saw the glass half full.Following the death of her husband Mickie in 2007, the late Mary enjoyed the facilities at Cois Cille and the Ionad Lae and she especially enjoyed the many outings they undertook each summer.

She was greatly missed when failing health forced her into residential care in 2019.

Sympathy is extended to her family, Mícheál and Celia, Diarmuid and Beatrice, Joan and Gene, Christy and Joan, her cherished nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and brother-in-law Jim. Codlamh sámh I ngrásta Dé.
