Castlemagner competitors win on the international stage
Congratulation to Castlemagner man Shane Sweetnam (representing Ireland) and his horse Alejandro, who won the Douglas Elliman Real Estate five-star Grand Prix in the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida.
Shane and Alejandro beat stiff competition last Saturday which saw Switzerland’s world number two Martin Fuchs (riding Clooney 51) take second place after a dramatic jump off. Wishing Shane continued success.

Congratulations too to Castlemagner elite athlete Michelle Finn who won the 1500 at the Meeting de l’Eure, France on the 14th February with her new personal best of 4:15.23.
Well done to Michelle and wishing her every success.
COMMUNITY AMENITY GRANT APPLICATION
The CCDA submitted their application to Cork County Council.
Thanks to the committee for all their work.
The group has applied for stone signage plaques for 5 bridges and at Abraham’s Cross.
They have also applied for refurbishment and repair to village water pump to make it a focal point in Castlemagner village.
All of these are important landmarks and part of our heritage and culture.
TIDY TOWNS
Castlemagner Tidy Towns Committee has just completed their grant application to Cork County Council.
The committee have applied for landscaping on the approach to Castlemagner village to improve visual appearance and to enhance biodiversity.
