Double helping of Boherbue online quiz

- JOHN TARRANT

BEAT off ongoing Covid-19 restrictions by participating in one or two Boherbue GAA promoted table Quizzes online this weekend in support of a Boherbue National School planned General Purpose Room.

During the past 12 months the club has hosted a number of weekly quizzes for members but two quizzes on this Friday and Saturday are open to the general public across the globe.

The fun begins on Friday night with a primary schools’ quiz starting at 7.30pm. Entry is open to all the family, there is an individual fee of €5 or a family rate of €20.

There are prizes for 1st/2nd Classes, 3rd/4th Classes, 5th/6th Classes and Family. Interested parties can register for the quiz by signing on through Boherbue GAA Twitter, Instagram or Facebook accounts that will be followed by a link.

The same procedure operates for an adult quiz on Saturday night at 8.30pm. An entry fee of €10 per person applies with a link issued on the day of the quiz regarding follow up instructions.

Co-ordinator and Boherbue Club secretary Steven Lynch outlined the staging is meeting the interests of table quiz supporters and supporting a planned General Purpose Room at Boherbue National School. “It is exactly the same as an ordinary table quiz, except that it’s online. Families can form their own teams in their own homes, or people can virtually team up together even though they are in different locations; in this way they will comply in full with the HSE’s Covid-19 regulations,” he said.

Participants are advised to use a laptop or iPad to allow easier access. Further information is available from Boherbue GAA Secretary Steven Lynch 087-2795558.
