THE LATE WILLIAM WHELAN

The death occurred suddenly on February 17 of William (Bill) Whelan Clontinty Glanworth. The late William was well known locally, he was predecease­d by his wife Eileen (nee Kent). He was in his 97th year and was former sacristan and caretaker at Holy Cross Church Glanworth. His funeral was held in private in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings (Covid 19). His Requiem Mass was held on Friday followed by burial to St Dominic’s Cemetery. To his sons Thomas, Pat, Noel, daughters in law Anne & Mary, Noel’s partner Veronica, grand children Barry, Darren, Ciaran, sister Susan, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and a large circle of friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE NEIL BRACKEN

The death occurred on February 12 at Cork University Hospital of Neil Bracken formerly of Ballyhooly and late of Rolestown Swords Dublin. The late Neil was well known locally, his funeral was held in private in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings (Covid 19). His Requiem Mass was held on Wednesday in Rolestown, Kilnasalla­gh, Dublin. To his wife Carmel, sons Bernard, Edward, Neil, James, grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren daughters in law, close friends and neighbours we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE SHEILA CALLAN

The death occurred on February 12 at Richmond Unit, Beaumont Hospital of Sheila Callan, (Nee Aherne) Howth Road Dublin and formerly of Ballindang­an Mitchelsto­wn. The late Sheila was a member of a well known family in the Ahacross area.

She was very well known being described as a wonderful character, larger than life, and cherished for her humanitari­an activities at home and abroad.

She was a life long active member for 60 years with the Irish Red Cross Society, Board member and National Treasurer.

During her service she was deployed as a delegate on a number of missions with the Internatio­nal Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. She will be sadly missed by her husband Joseph extended family members. Her funeral Service took place in Dublin on Thursday morning with burial to the Abbey, Brigown Old Cemetery Mitchelsto­wn.

A large number of Red Cross personnell from many areas performed a guard of honour as the cortege arrived at Brigown Cemetery for burial. Sincere sympathy to her family and friends.

THE LATE SHEILA DEVLIN

The death occurred on February 19 of Sheila Devlin (Nee O’Brien) Dun Laoghaire Dublin and formerly of Mitchelsto­wn.

Sheila’s funeral was held in private in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings (Covid 19) Requiem Mass was held in the Church of the Holy Family, Kill Ave.

With burial to Deangrange Cemetery. To her husband Michael, sons Frank, Brian, Colm daughter Ursula, sons, daughter, daughters in law Maeve, Mary, Cloidhna, son in law Ertan, grandchild­ren Eoin, Fergal Fionnuala, Cathal,

Sean, Aoife, Ruairi, Niall, Orlaith, Ronan and Akit, nieces, nephews relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE DONIE LYONS

The death occurred after a long illness on Sunday February 21 at Marymount Hospice Cork of Donal (Donie) Lyons 63 Lower Cork St Mitchelsto­wn. The late Donie in his 76th year was very well known locally. He was a retired Creamery Manager at Mitchelsto­wn Creameries and gave life time service to Mitchelsto­wn GAA.

He served as Board delegate, was Treasurer for very many years and also did Trojan work in the playing field. He was a member of the local Pastoral Council up to his death.

The late Donie was predecease­d by his wife Joan (Nee O’Donovan) Galbally. Donie’s funeral on Wednesday was held in private in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings (Covid 19).

Requiem Mass took place in Mitchelsto­wn Parish Church on Wednesday with burial to Brigown New Cemetery.

To his sons Daniel, James, grandchild­ren Jayden, Emma, Danny, Jack, sister Maura (Barry) Glencairn, brother Liam (Thurles) brother in law D J. sister in law Anne, daughter in law Lauren, James partner Sandra Connolly, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and many friends along with his many colleagues in the GAA we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE MARIE STEWART (NEE ROCHE)

The death occurred on February 16 of Marie Steward (nee Roche), St Mary’s Terrace, Fermoy.

The late Marie resided in London for many years. She was predecease­d by her husband Hughie.

Her funeral was held privately in London in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings (Covod 19) Cremation Service was held in London.

To her daughters Angela, Tina, son James, sisters Abina, Patricia, Ann, Julie, daughters, son grandchild­ren sisters, nephews, nieces relatives neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE PATRICIA HAUGH (NEE CORCORAN)

The death occurred on February 15 of Patricia Haugh (Nee Corcoran) East End, Kilkee and formerly of Fermoy. The late Patricia was predecease­d by her husband Martin, Crossbeg, Doonbeg.

Her funeral was held in private in accordance with Government guidelines and HSE regulation­s regarding public gatherings (Covid 19).

Requiem Mass took place on Wednesday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception Kilkee with burial to Lisdeen Cemetery.

To her daughter Margaret, son in law Pat Boland, grandchild­ren, Joseph, Emer, great grandchild Mairead, Joseph’s partner Rachel, sisters Mary (Hassett) Ann (Dolan) brothers Jim and Noel, brother in law Joe, sister in law Eileen, nieces Christine, Carmel, Martina, Maria, Orla, Claire, Ann-Marie, Elaine, Trish, Fiona and Lisa extended family and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
