What Would Holly Do? The answer at last!
RTÉ unveils a very niche online show
HAVE you ever asked yourself: What would Holly Carpenter do? In the highly unlikely event that you have, RTÉ has the answer.
The broadcaster is giving the model her own online show about beauty and make-up as part of a plan to develop online-only programme content.
The show will be made available on the RTÉ Player, which up to now was only used to make available shows that had already been broadcast on RTÉ TV.
Former Miss Ireland Holly, 25, will host four-part series What Would Holly Do? from her bedroom, in which she will offer her beauty tips. The first show will be made available on the website from tomorrow.
It is the first of a range of new web-only shows for RTÉ. It will be followed by shows by food blogger Indy Power, Chef Adrian and comedian Pamela Joyce.
Holly is already a minor star online after a series of posts she ran Snapchat went viral last year. It was a selection of photos where she explained what girls are really saying when they post photographs online.
But she has also received her share of online abuse, particularly for a newspaper article she wrote last January about how she had spent New Year’s Eve, which was widely mocked for its banality.
Her mother Jane, and her two rescue dogs, Gus and Toby, will also feature on the RTÉ show.
Holly told the Irish Mail on Sunday that she was excited about her new venture.
‘What Would Holly Do? is the first beauty series on the RTÉ site, so it’s such an exciting opportunity,’ she said. ‘The show has an upbeat and fun feel to it. I showcase four different makeup looks, including glamorous festive make-up and light natural make-up that you could even wear to the gym.
‘The message is all about feeling good in your own skin and loving yourself.’
