It’s chips for Nadia as she’s home for Sammy Sausages

SHE is soon to be seen rocking a flying carpet in the Christmas panto Aladdin. But beauty Nadia Forde insists that rather than worrying about fitting into her seven veils, she’s pigging out on chips any chance she gets – because her recent home of Japan just doesn’t do the traditional Irish chipper.

Taking on her first leading role since her temporary return here, top model Nadia Forde told the Irish Mail on Sunday that she enjoyed her time in the orient but is now looking forward to her move to Australia and time with the family at Christmas. But first, she’ll have to get to grips with the role of Princess Jasmine in the Cheerios Panto – written by Karl Broderick and starring his husband Alan Hughes as the now Christmas staple ‘Sammy Sausages’. It’s a festive role that Nadia is looking forward to. She explained: ‘Taking on the role of Princess Jasmine in this year’s production is a dream come true. ‘Japan has been amazing and one thing I’m obsessed with doing now is Bikram yoga, that’s huge in Japan. ‘I love Japanese food but it can get a bit wearying. ‘There has been a lot of bags of chips since I’ve been home – drowned in salt and vinegar.’

TV host Brian Dowling, who plays the hilarious Genie, is looking forward to Christmas with his family at home as his husband will be working away.

He said: ‘I’ve done four pantos over the years with Alan and Karl and I’m very excited to take on the role as the genie.’

Aladdin runs from December 13 to January 15 in the Tivoli Theatre.

Tickets are on sale now.
