RATHER than end the year on a bum note some of our favourite celebrities escaped to sunnier climes where, of course, they shared so many beach-perfect poses of their happy holidays.
Glenda Gilson was St Lucia-bound for a romantic New Year with husband Rob Macnaughton. The Xposé presenter was clearly so delighted that she was doing cartwheels on the beach and her Instagram video amassed 13,194 views.

Closer to home Angela Scanlon was seen bathing al fresco in the Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore and her al fresco seaweed bath got 1,153 likes.
And newly single Holly Carpenter raised a glass to toast her newly engaged best friend Jayne Higgins in a hot tub in The Galgorm Resort in Antrim. Donning matching black suits the two friends were clearly bubbling with joy. Holly’s hot tub snap got 1,042 likes on Instagram.
