Heaslip’s wedding DJ linked to Hutch family
THE fiancé of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch’s daughter deejayed at rugby star Jamie Heaslip’s wedding last year, the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal.
DJ Gordon ‘Gordo’ Johnson had to postpone his own wedding to Gerry Hutch’s daughter, Leonda Fowler, last year due to her family’s deadly feud with the Kinahan crime cartel.
But concerns over the feud did not deter the former Ireland rugby captain, who asked Mr Johnson to perform at his wedding reception in the exclusive King’s Inns on Henrietta Street last August.
The DJ put a picture from the reception on his Instagram page with a message of congratulations to Heaslip and his bride Sheena O’Buachalla.
The Leinster and Ireland rugby player replied: ‘MVP [most valuable player] stuff from you last night.’ Rugby star Rob Kearney also complimented the ‘tunes’ played at the wedding. DJ Gordo previously appeared as a DJ on the popular RTÉ 2 reality TV show Don’t Tell the Bride. We revealed last year how the deadly feud had led to the postponement of his wedding to the Monk’s youngest daughter. The couple were due to get married in Clontarf last June.
In 2006, Hutch’s eldest daughter Jennifer was married in an extravagant affair in the coastal suburb.
Hutch’s children lead a protected life and were never involved in any criminality.
DJ Gordo hung up when the MoS attempted to speak to him this weekend, while a spokeswoman for Jamie Heaslip said he had ‘no comment to make on the matter’.
