Pam hopes to avoid a lashing by Dragons

BEAUTICIAN Pamela Laird will need to do more than flutter her eyelashes as she pitches for an investment for her new business. The beautician to the stars is on Dragons’ Den tonight and will need a perfectly polished presentation if she is to succeed.

Pamela has a roster of celebrity clients to her salon, The Beauty Parlour in Terenure, Dublin, where she works with her mother Yvonne. Olivia Palermo popped into Pamela when she was in Dublin last year and Holly Carpenter, Lottie Ryan and Lisa Cannon are among her roster of clients.

Pamela last year developed, manufactured and marketed Moxi, individually wrapped cotton buds with fluid for make-up mishaps and fix-ups, which she successfully launched. But she is hoping to bring Moxi to the masses, so she decided to look towards the Dragons.

She explained: ‘Myself and my mum were watching the show and I just thought what a perfect opportunity.’

Pamela is the go-to-girl for lashes and is considered the best in the business for the fake-also effect.

She said that going into the Den was daunting.

‘I was so nervous. I really wanted to have a demo done, so I got a make-up artist, Christina Lucignano, and Lynn Kelly as a model. And they’re both friends of mine, so it was perfect having them there, it really calmed my nerves.’

After her demo, the questions came quick and fast from the judges.

‘I thought they were really easy on me but when we left there were like, “Oh my God, they really grilled you,” so its hard to say.’

Pamela is very proud of her brand Moxi.

She explained: ‘It’s under the €5 mark. It’s something that you can have in your kit and which makes life easier and solves a problem.’
