MUNSTER RATINGS

- By Shane McGrath

SIMON ZEBO

Tried harder than anyone to ignite Munster, but Scarlets were equal to his trickery.

ANDREW CONWAY

Scored a late try but was part of a defence punished for playing too narrowly in the first half.

FRANCIS SAILI

Easy to see why he has not been retained, given his indiscipline in defensive line.

RORY SCANNELL

Early head injury saw him off briefly before he was gone for good after less than 30 minutes.

KEITH EARLS

Read the pass well for his late intercept but Scarlets shut him down when it mattered.

TYLER BLEYENDAAL

As against Saracens last month, Bleyendaal suffered against a defence that gave him no time.

CONOR MURRAY

Didn’t stand a chance given the type of ball dictated by the Scarlets breakdown.

DAVE KILCOYNE

The Munster scrum creaked occasionally but Kilcoyne did some good work in the loose.

NIALL SCANNELL

The lineout was not a problem but it was a day when there were bigger issues to address.

JOHN RYAN

Exposed and ruthlessly exploited by Scott Williams for the third Scarlets try by Gareth Davies.

DONNACHA RYAN

Battled hard in his final game but Ryan was powerless to stop the Scarlets taking off.

BILLY HOLLAND

Has had a marvellous season but this was a step-up he could not make, like many of the side.

PETER O’MAHONY (Capt) 5

Painful on the eve of a Lions tour, the captain was totally outplayed by Aaron Shingler.

TOMMY O’DONNELL

Munster knew Scarlets would look to own the breakdown, O’Donnell could not stop them.

CJ STANDER

As against Saracens, the South African was worked out quickly and ruthlessly.

REPLACEMENTS

J Taute (for R Scannell 28) 5; J Deysel (for T O’Donnell 45) 5; S Archer (for J Ryan 46) 5; J O’Donoghue (for B Holland 53) 5; R Marshall (for N Scannell 55) 5; I Keatley (for Zebo 61) 5; B Scott (for Kilcoyne 68) 5; D Williams (for Murray 72) 5.

COACH: RASSIE ERASMUS

Has done more good than bad this season, and there was no tactical masterstroke he could pull here. However, Erasmus has to add quality, especially to his back line.
