Munier buries hatchet to take new role

- By Niamh Walsh

RESTAURATEUR Nick Munier has reunited with his former business partner, Frank Gleeson, despite an acrimonious parting of ways which simmered over into the High Court.

Masterchef presenter Munier is now back working for Mr Gleeson’s group of pubs and restaurants, Gleeson, the Irish Mail on Sunday can reveal.

Munier previously partnered with Gleeson in Pichet Restaurant, but a falling out in 2014 led the pair to a legal cook-off in the High Court.

The dispute arose over an alleged delay in implementing a deal to buy out Munier’s shareholding in Pichet. The dispute was settled and doesn’t appear to have left a sour taste.

The surprise move comes as embattled Munier was recently forced to close the doors at his Temple Bar restaurant, Avenue.

It has now emerged that Munier’s business partner, Alanna Feeney, has been installed as manager at Marcel’s on Merrion Row.

This week she confirmed that Munier was working with the group but would not comment on his position. However, he has been actively promoting Gleeson’s bestknown eateries on his social media. Munier did not respond to requests for a comment.

Gleeson was involved in another legal battle this year which ended up in court as he sued fellow shareholders in the Mercantile pub group. Mr Gleeson did not respond to a request for comment.
