WARM UP FOR THE PICNIC

-

For more than 55,000 people, this week will be all about prepping for the Electric Picnic at the weekend. However, there are plenty of other gigs coming up in the next seven days. Tonight marks the close of the Harvest Festival in Enniskillen and Westport, with Miranda Lambert (pictured), Nathan Carter et al, while, in Galway’s Róisín Dubh, beloved folk-rock veterans Scullion take centre stage. This evening will also see Kim Hayden on stage in Whelan’s, Dublin. A semi-finalist in the 2013 series of The Voice Of Ireland she knows a thing or two about the vagaries of the music business – her granddad Seamus was in the Miami Showband. Another TV talent show alumnus, Niall Horan embarks on his first solo tour this week. The former One Directioner plays Dublin’s Olympia on Tuesday, before embarking on a world tour. And, celebrating 30 years since Hold Me Now gave him his second Eurovision win, Johnny Logan hits Dublin’s Vicar Street venue on Friday. Music’s first J-Lo has been packing them in for more than 40 years. Celtic Woman, meanwhile, plays a relatively rare Irish show in Dublin’s 3Arena on Saturday.
