Pippa feels guilt as a working mum
PIPPA O’CONNOR has revealed she struggles to juggle her fashion business with family life.
The social media star says she finds it difficult spending days apart from her boys – four-yearold Ollie and one-year old Louis – while touring the country with her Fashion Factories events.
Pippa, who is married to TV presenter Brian Ormond, is on the cover of this month’s Irish Country magazine and said: ‘Sometimes I feel like every mother, I’m sure, and I feel guilty.
‘Some days I feel so guilty when I’m away from them either at the shop all day and I missed them going to bed, or I’m at a Fashion Factories event and you’re not with them for two or three days in a row. That’s hard. But then I have to think I’m luckier than most people that work and have kids because I do what I want to do. I don’t have to answer to anyone.’
The former model, pictured left with her family, said of her sons: ‘I do think it’s good for them to see that their mom is a hard worker,’ she said.
‘Ollie gets it. He’s only four and a half and he says, “I understand you have to work, I want nice things.”’
She might be one of the most followed Irish women on social media, but Pippa is happy to keep her family out of the spotlight.
‘I show a little bit of my personal life,’ she said. ‘I don’t feel like I over-share.’
Hoping to follow the success of her Poco denim range, the style blogger has just launched the Pippa Collection of candles and journals. ’
