DUAL-FUEL STILL ISN’T THE BEST DEAL ON MARKET

-

It’s still cheaper to get your gas and electricity separately, despite Panda Power stoking up competition by entering the dual-fuel market, where both types of bill are bundled together.

Panda is now the second cheapest dual-fuel provider after Energia, after it announced a 28% discount for new customers, giving an average annual cost of €1,445 a year for both gas and electricity. But you’d still pay less if you went with different suppliers who offer top value.

Electric Ireland’s €527 gas deal is the best around, for example. Figures from Switcher.ie.show that if you combined this with Energia’s €802 best-value electricity offer, the two bills would come to a combined total over €100 cheaper than the best dual deal.
