I’m not jinxed, says Jesus

BRAZIL striker Gabriel Jesus has assured Manchester City fans he isn’t a ‘sicknote’ despite missing four months through injury since signing at the start of last year.

Jesus scored the first goal of his latest comeback against Basel on Wednesday and doesn’t think he is jinxed. ‘I had not been injured before I came here,’ he said. ‘It was the first time and the second time here at Manchester City so hopefully it will be the first, second and the last.

‘Now I feel physically really well. Technically I need to return to the level I was at before my comeback but I just need to play and get more minutes and I will be back.’

Jesus, 20, was out for 13 games last season after breaking a metatarsal and he damaged knee ligaments against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Eve.
