BRENDAN McDowell scores tan out of tan for spotting a business opportunity. The Down man who this week launched the BPerfect 10 Second tan disclosed that he had so much faith in the product, he was wearing it himself. ‘A lot of guys are wearing fake tan now,’ Brendan, pictured, told The Diary. ‘Sunbeds can be harmful – but men still want a tan so now they are wearing fake tan.’ THE Peter Mark VIP Style Awards are now in their 17th year and the soirée is due to take place on April 23 in the Marker Hotel. The launch this week saw publisher Michael O’Doherty step away from the law library to attend the event. MOD is now a fully qualified barrister as he has been studying the law for the past few years. So with some of the less than stylish outfits on display, you would think he would have acquired the legal nous to prosecute the offenders for crimes against fashion. WHEN Olivia Colman, below, was cast as The Queen in Netflix’s The Crown she might have hoped for no sex scenes.

I hear though that writer Peter Morgan is merrily plotting raunchy antics for his TV monarch, who will be in her mid-40s when the series starts.

Says my source: ‘Peter has been writing sex scenes but people in the production team aren’t so sure about them.’

Hugh Laurie is tipped to play Philip to Olivia’s Elizabeth. MOVIE stars using their cachet to advertise products is nothing new. But Pierce Brosnan’s latest project may have left a bitter taste. He made an ad for an Indian breath freshener in 2016. But made from herbs and spices, Pan Bahar is also said to have harmful side-effects. The Delhi state government contacted Brosnan over the matter, and he said the company ‘did not disclose the hazardous nature of the product’ to him, India’s ndtv.com reported.

WE all dream of meeting our heroes – but when you’re Andy Murray you can make such dreams come true. He has helped to arrange for wife Kim, right, to meet Jilly Cooper – whom Mrs Murray has described as her ‘all-time favourite author and general superhero’.

The author and Andy met at the FA’s football centre where she was working on new tome Tackle! and Andy was in rehab for a hip injury.

‘He asked for a selfie with me to send Kim,’ Jilly, 81, told me between trips to the Paddy Power box at Cheltenham last week. ‘Now we’re great friends. He’s very attractive in the flesh. Kim and I are going to meet.’ Jilly added they had ‘corresponded like mad’ about their love of border terriers – the Murrays have two – but had never met. NOW that her 3e Box Office movie show has reached the end of the series, Lisa Cannon has set her sights on a new fashion and lifestyle venture – something she knows a thing or two about as a former presenter of TV3’s Xposé. This is not the first entrepreneurial venture for Lisa who last year set up the OPSH Limited publishing company with husband Richard Kealtey. Now with a new fashionable website in the offing, she has been spotted having meetings at Dublin’s Westbury Hotel.
