SHE saved the best till last. Wow. A lily-white gown by Stella McCartney that is just fabulous, writes Liz Jones.

It’s still bridey, but relaxed enough to mean she will be able to move, sit and have a really good time.

I do love a halterneck as it shows off those surfer shoulders, while the high neck is subtly sexy.

The bodice is fitted to show off her figure, but the skirt – a tumble of silk crepe – is so extravagant I’m almost worried it won’t fit in a sports car.

Stella’s gift for tailoring allows Meghan to look really relaxed, which means the dress has done its job. And Meghan’s look was completed with an aquamarine ring that had belonged to Diana.

Wouldn’t it have been great if she’d taken the wheel…
