Rosenior reveals a fine way to make a living

-

CHRIS HUGHTON was rewarded with a new threeyear contract as Brighton manager after ensuring his newly-promoted side survived their first season in the Premier League, and one of the senior players he released soon after provided an insight this week into how the former Ireland international goes about his business. ‘You’ve been great for us but we’re not prepared to renew your contract for next season,’ was Liam Rosenior’s succint opening line in his Guardian column on Thursday. The right back was effusive in his praise of Hughton, describing him as ‘a manager full of humility, respect, empathy and confidence in himself because of his detailed planning and preparation.’ So much so that Brighton (just like every Premier League club these days) have a player liaison officer who Rosenior was keen to thank for taking care of everything from finding schools for players’ children to even paying their parking fines.
