Goldin days for Bergin as he finds new love

ACTOR Patrick Bergin has reinvented himself as a rock star and, with a castle and his Hollywood good looks still intact, it was bizarre the dashing thespian remained single.

But the Diary has learned that Bergin has been love-struck by society darling Helen Goldin and the pair are enjoying a second chance at love.

Helen was married to renowned hypnotist Paul Goldin, who died after a short illness some years ago.

And as the mother of successful beauty entrepreneur Katie-Jane Goldin, Helen is a regular guest at select social events.

But an encounter with Mr Bergin over a year ago saw a friendship blossom and the pair are now ‘virtually inseparable’.

Diary sources have revealed that the pair, pictured, have just spent the last month together in Spain where Patrick was on-stage with the Stars in the Sun group.

They also recently attended a number of high-profile events together as a couple.

Hollywood star and Sleeping With The Enemy actor Bergin, 67, recently experienced a small screen comeback after his much lauded appearance on TV3 hit drama Red Rock.

He has since gone on to land a role in BBC soap EastEnders as villain Aidan Maguire where he is at his menacing best.

He has also just completed filming US crime series Quantico which was filmed in Ireland over the past few months.

Bergin owns a castle in Cloughjordan in Co. Tipperary and in a previous interview with the Irish Mail on Sunday he said: ‘I’ve got a castle down in Tipperary so I’ll probably be like a dithering lunatic down there.’

Now it seems that the only thing he is truly mad about is his new love Helen.
