Game Of Thrones stars turn out in style
THEY played star-crossed lovers in hit TV show Game Of Thrones – and yesterday actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie married in real-life. The couple – Jon Snow and Ygritte in the HBO fantasy series – took their vows in front of 200 family and friends. They were married in Scotland, close to Ms Leslie’s family’s castle, where the reception took place. The bride – a descendant of Charles II and related to the Leslie family of Glaslough, Co. Monaghan – was radiant in a full-length white dress. Among the guests were Sophie Turner, who plays Harington’s onscreen half-sister, Sansa Stark. She wore a red jacket minidress and thighhigh boots, while Maisie Williams, who plays her on-screen sister, Arya, wore a black jumpsuit.
Emilia Clarke, 31, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, turned up in a baby pink coat and pink dress, with her white blonde hair cropped into a bob.
John Bradley – who plays Samwell Tarley – also attended, as did Dublin actor Liam Cunningham, who stars as Davos Seaworth. To the delight of onlookers, Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, gave fans a heartfelt wave and a cheery hello.
The newlyweds met in 2012 on-set while playing lovers Ygritte – a fiery, red-headed wildling from beyond the wall – and Jon Snow, a member of the Night’s Watch and one of the show’s most popular characters. In an interview with Vogue in 2016, Mr Harington said his favourite part of filming was ‘the three weeks in Iceland when we were shooting the second season. It was there that I fell in love. If you’re already attracted to someone and then they play your love interest, it becomes very easy to fall in love.’
