Today’s PREVIEWS
LEINSTER SFC FINAL
Dublin v Laois Croke Park, 4pm Live: RTÉ One Referee: Barry Cassidy (Derry) THE big news from Dublin yesterday was that captain Stephen Cluxton has declared himself fit for this game – Jim Gavin saying earlier in the week that any decision on his availability would rest with the keeper himself. It remains to be seen if Laois can keep their defeat within the handicap as the bookmakers have shown an uncanny ability to predict Dublin’s winning margins this season. Expect John Sugrue’s welldrilled side to ask a few more questions of Dublin – John O’Loughlin’s battle with Michael Darragh Macauley in the middle of the park will be worth keeping an eye on – but the 15 points spread suggested by the bookies reflect the gap between these sides. If Donie Kingston can fire an early goal, Laois might make this competitive for 40 minutes or so.

ULSTER SFC FINAL
Donegal v Fermanagh Clones, 2pm Live: RTÉ One/BBC 2 Referee: David Gough (Meath) WHAT is seldom is wonderful for Fermanagh. This will only be the county’s sixth Ulster final, so regardless of their brand of football, their supporters will savour the afternoon. Donegal, on the other hand, are in their seventh provincial decider this decade alone whereas Ryan McCluskey is the only survivor from the Ernesiders 2008 final outing. Fermanagh’s defensive system is likely to frustrate Donegal for stretches and Jamie Brennan won’t get the space he was afforded against Down. Disciplined Fermanagh tackling is likely to restrict placed-ball opportunities. For all that, Donegal will have too much for their opponents.

SFC QUALIFIER
Offaly v Clare O’Connor Park, 1.30pm Referee: Paddy Neilan (Roscommon) Paul Rouse has led the Offaly rallying call and prompted a first round victory over Antrim. Clare’s confidence has to be low after their trouncing by Kerry, but it should leave them desperate to prove their true value.
