THE son of motorcycle racing great Robert Dunlop was killed in practice at the Skerries 100 road races yesterday.

William Dunlop, 32, from Ballymoney in Co. Antrim, pictured above, was a champion racer like his illustrious father and Uncle Joey, having won the North West 200 and Ulster GP.

His father Robert, who was the first person to be inducted into the Irish Motorcycle Hall of Fame, died in a crash at the North West 200 in 2008.

His Uncle Joey was killed while competing in a race in Estonia in July 2000.

The brothers were regarded as the greatest-ever road racers, winning a record number of races between them.
