Eugenie plans a showbiz wedding to match her royal rival’s... and even recruits Robbie Williams’s little angel as a bridesmaid
WITH St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle yet again the venue and Prince George and Princess Charlotte back on duty, some might say it’s the copycat royal wedding.
But Princess Eugenie will go one up even on Harry and Meghan on her big day by featuring a scion of the rockocracy among the bridesmaids – Robbie Williams’s daughter Theodora Rose.
The five-year-old will be a flower girl when Eugenie marries Jack Brooksbank in October.
Williams – who left Take That to find huge solo success – and his wife Ayda Field will be among the guests. The couple have been friends with Eugenie, 28, and her sister Princess Beatrice, 29, for some years.
Williams’s presence will add a touch of showbiz glamour to echo that of Elton John and the Beckhams who attended Meghan and Harry’s wedding in May.
Another bridesmaid is Maud Windsor. The four-year-old daughter of Freddie Windsor and his actress wife Sophie Winkleman is in the same class at Thomas’s School, London, as Prince George,
‘He couldn’t be more proud for his daughter’
who will be a pageboy.
The other flower girls are Princess Charlotte and Ines de Givenchy, two. Her parents, Frenchman Olivier de Givenchy, a senior banker at JP Morgan, and his Australian wife Zoe, are also friends with Robbie and Ayda.
The wedding is a far cry from Robbie’s notorious past.
He once admitted to being ‘24 hours away from death’ at the height of his addictions to drink and drugs. Last year, he confessed to ‘smoking a spliff’ at Buckingham Palace when he headlined Queen Elizabeth’s diamond jubilee concert in 2012.
The 44-year-old credits the birth of his first child Theodora – known as Teddy – with straightening him out. His second child with Ayda, Charlie, was born in 2014. A music industry source said: ‘This is a great moment for Robbie. He couldn’t be more proud for his daughter.’
Eugenie and Brooksbank, 32, met seven years ago in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier. The ex-manager of fashionable London nightclub Mahiki, Brooksbank is now a brand ambassador for George Clooney’s Casamigos Tequila.
