POGBA FREED BY HERRERA
JOSE MOURINHO’S decision to bring on Ander Herrera was key to giving Paul Pogba the freedom to help inspire United’s late comeback at Bournemouth.
Pogba had little impact in the first half. Nearly half of his touches were in his own half. None of them were in Bournemouth’s box.
When Herrera came on — just before the hour — Pogba had three shots, five touches in the opposition box and was playing much further forward. United legend Paul Scholes praised Mourinho for the substitution.
‘Herrera in midfield released Pogba and he started running in the second half,’ he said.
