Gunners eye Perisic move
SOUTHAMPTON, Brighton and Burnley could make a move for 17-year-old Bolton Wanderers starlet Luca Connell before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Connell made his first Bolton start on Friday night. With the Championship club in financial trouble, they now have to decide whether to cash in on the Irish midfielder who would fetch around £1million.
Bolton’s problems this season have been well documented with players paid late and former owner Eddie Davies giving the club a loan just days before he died last September. Current chairman Ken Anderson says he wants to sell the club.
ARSENAL have made a bid to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic (above) on loan. Manager Unai Emery wants to sign the 29-yearold Croatian World Cup star for the rest of the season, with an option to buy him in the summer for £35million.
BARNSLEY striker Kieffer Moore is wanted by Sunderland and Bristol City. The 26-year-old has 16 goals for the League One club — who hope a £4million price tag will deter suitors — this season. Barnsley have also rejected Brentford’s approach for centre back Ethan Pinnock.
STOKE CITY have received enquiries for experienced duo Darren Fletcher and Peter Crouch whose opportunities may be limited this season under new manager Nathan Jones.
Jones was appointed earlier this month and made it clear he wants to take the club in a different direction. But any late deals for the 34-year-old former Manchester United midfielder and ex-England striker Crouch, 37, will be complicated by the pair being among the club’s highest-earners.
Stoke, meanwhile, have made an enquiry about a potential £9million move for Burnley striker Sam Vokes, who could be allowed to leave for the right price.
