FORECAST GENERAL FORECAST

It is set to be a largely wet day with light rain spreading throughout Ireland by the afternoon. There will be sleet for Northern Ireland early on with light rain and drizzle elsewhere. There may be some breaks in the rain.

Leinster: It will be a fairly dry start to the day, however there will be increasing light rain as the day goes on. Tonight, Light patchy rain. Max temp 9C (48F). Min temp 4C (39F).

Dublin: There will be light rain and perhaps some drizzle for much of the day. Moderate breeze and overcast. Tonight, Some heavier rain. Max temp 8C (46F). Min temp 5C (41F).

Ulster: A sleety start to the day, which will turn to rain and drizzle for the rest of the day. Some clear spells. Tonight, Wet and cloudy. Max temp 8C (46F). Min temp 2C (36F).

Connacht: It will be a wet day with only a few brief breaks in the light rain earlier on. Largely overcast and damp. Tonight, Continued light rain. Max temp 9C (48F). Min temp 3C (37F).

Munster: There will be patchy rain for much of the day that will get heavier as the day goes on. Feeling mild. Tonight, Rain and drizzle. Max temp 10C (50F). Min temp 5C (41F).

WEEK AHEAD

There will be variable weather throughout the week, with Monday staying largely dry with sunny intervals. In contrast Tuesday is mostly likely to be wet for many throughout the day with some strong winds. This rain is set to continue into Wednesday but will become patchier with the chance of some sunny intervals. By the end of the week there is the chance for some heavy rain. Temperatur­es should be relatively mild for much of the week, with midweek being the mildest .
