Dutch Lendvai Trio take a slightly irreverent approach to the works of Beethoven and others in the Town Hall Theatre Galway. Ronan Collins leads a cast of stalwarts in Reeling In The Showband Years in the Opera House Wexford. Late-blooming American singer Mike Yung (he’s 59) comes to Whelan’s tomorrow. Obscura are in the Voodoo Lounge Dublin on Tuesday while metallers Steel Panther rock up to Vicar Street on Tuesday and Wednesday. Nineties indie icons The Lemonheads are in the Dublin Academy on Wednesday. On Thursday you’ll find Jim Page is in the Triskel Christchur­ch Arts Centre in Cork, while English ED duo Gorgon City are in the Olympia Theatre. Scottish songstress Isla Grant, pictured, is in the Riverside Enniscorth­y (see islagrant. wordpress.com for more dates). Gig of the week for me is the return of the excellent Sleaford Mods to the Academy on Friday (Roisin Dubh Galway, Saturday). The Eskies stop off in Coughlan’s of Cork, while harp and guitar will clash when Tríona Marshall and Tim Edey perform at the Mermaid in Bray. The 24th Festival of Youth Orchestras takes place on Friday and Saturday in the National Concert Hall. God Is An Astronaut come to The Academy on Saturday and Eoin O’Neill and friends will be in the Glor Theatre, Ennis. White Denim are in the Limelight 2 in Belfast, while New York’s Homeboy Sandman comes to the Sugar Club.
