FENNELLY has been praised for his honesty after rubbishing life in the Defence Forces. There were journalists calling for an overhaul of the military in light of his comments.

That is to presume Fennelly’s (left) experience is common. There have been assertions this is not the case, that as a prominent inter-county star his life was not that shared by his colleagues.

What is certain is that his opinions were graceless, and disregarded those he served with, and those who have distinguished Ireland as peacekeepers around the globe for decades.
