ON WEDNESDAY’S Operation Transformation, the Taoiseach learned that despite being 40, he had a metabolic age of 53.

Unsurprisingly, his first comment was that he doubted the science. Obsessed as he is with spin, the bigger surprise was that he did not take the test privately in advance to avoid what clearly was shock.

There is a political lesson in that for him. Never take a question unless you already know the answer.
