Leo stayed out till midnight for VIP bash after DWTS

-

LEO VARADKAR was a surprise audience guest at last Sunday’s Dancing With The Stars final – and the evening didn’t end there for him.

Having enjoyed a prime seat in the audience at Ardmore Studios in Wicklow for the dancing, Leo then trekked into the city centre for the VIP afterparty at 37 Dawson Street.

‘Leo was in great form at the party,’ revealed a source. ‘He was the biggest celebrity in the room. He was having a few drinks and chatting to everyone. He was in top form.’

While the party at 37 was in full swing into the early hours, Leo left the club just before the clock struck midnight and got into a waiting car to be whisked home.

His presence at the show came as a surprise to many but a source says he is a DWTS fan.

Leo was joined by his boyfriend Matt Barrett in the front row, sitting alongside RTÉ director general Dee Forbes.

We assume she took the opportunity to bend his ear about raising the licence fee in between the razzle dazzle of the dancing, as it was on the same day that this newspaper revealed that the show’s executive producer, Larry Bass, was warning that only a licence fee hike could guarantee the future of the highly popular show.

It is said to cost about €3m to produce a single series and it is the toprated show on RTÉ.

Leo seems to be developing a taste for reality TV appearances, as he recently turned up on Operation Transformation. Of course, he is a seasoned performer on the greatest reality show of them all – Leaders’ Questions in the Dáil.
