Jenny set for return to radio as Today FM shows interest
RADIO presenter Jenny Greene, who shocked her fans by leaving her prime 2FM afternoon slot last month after station bosses decided to replace her with Jennifer Zamparelli, could be set for a new job. It seems that RTÉ’s loss could be Today FM’s gain as word has reached Talk of the Town that the station is ‘seriously interested’ in recruiting Jenny to its roster of talent. Talented presenter and DJ Jenny, pictured right, had been with the national broadcaster for 12 years and for the past five had been co-presenting the afternoon radio slot with Nicky Byrne.
Their pairing had been a huge success with the last JNLRs showing that they had made big listenership gains at 153,000, which was up 5,000 on the previous year.
So it’s no surprise that Today FM is casting an eye in Jenny’s direction as she was instrumental in 2FM beating Today FM in the ratings war.
Byrne left the show as he had reunited with Westlife and they were starting a world tour.
When the announcement was made that Jennifer Zamparelli was to be parachuted into the slot previously held by Jenny and Nicky, she felt that she had no option but to leave 2FM.
As well being an on-air sensation, Jenny has also enjoyed huge success with her live collaborations with the RTE Concert Orchestra. UNA HEALY has gone back to the dark side. After a few months experimenting with the old adage that blondes have more fun, the singer has ditched her platinum locks for a more demure looking chestnut brown, pictured right. Last week, we revealed that Una is ‘considering a move back home’ as she strides onwards and upwards from the trauma of her marriage breakdown to rugby star Ben Foden. Ten months on, it looks like she has finally managed to wash that man right out of her hair! Her relationship with Limerick sports physio David Breen is continuing apace, and her music career has lifted off. You go, girl!
