Rosanna brings new baby Sophia home

- By Niamh Walsh

PROUD new mum Rosanna Davison brought her bundle of joy home to Ireland this weekend, just in time for her first family Christmas.

Rosanna ensured her daughter Sophia was well wrapped up to protect her from the winter chill.

The newborn wore a hat that was knitted for her by granny Diane Davison, who was immortalised in husband Chris de Burgh’s Lady In Red. Talking to Instagram, Rosanna and husband Wesley looked absolutely thrilled to be finally bringing the baby home, to begin life as a family of three.

The high-profile couple welcomed Sophia via a gestational surrogate two weeks ago and the model told the Irish Mail on Sunday that they were present to witness the moment her daughter arrived into the world. Rosanna even had the joy of cutting the umbilical cord, the MoS can reveal. The former Miss World had previously told the MoS that she and husband Wesley Quirke were hoping to be present at the birth.

‘We watched her being born and I cut her cord,’ Rosanna said.

‘Thursday was the most emotional, overwhelming day of my life. It was so special to be there for her delivery,’ she said afterwards.

On the day, Rosanna took to Instagram to share the news, writing:

‘And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true… Today, November 21st 2019 at 11.57am, our beautiful and healthy daughter Sophia Rose Quirke arrived safely into the world.’

Rosanna and Wesley started their surrogacy journey two years ago.
